Marion Corbley and her husband Marty started All Type Rentals, an equipment hire business, from their home in 1977. As the business has expanded and evolved from a solely party hire operation to one that includes hardware, building and handyman equipment for hire, All Type Rentals has moved from the Corbley’s home to Beenleigh in 1984. And as it continued to grow, the company purchased more land in Browns Plains in 1988 so that it could house its rapidly growing equipment inventory.
All Type Rental has a staff of 15 employees – nearly half of whom are mature age employees. Marion seeks to maintain an age-balance within her workforce and prides herself on “giving people mature age people a go”. Marion’s staff regard her as a special person who has respect for their talents and who nurtures a family-like atmosphere within a business that fosters great loyalty from its staff and dedication to doing the job well. “Mature people have a lot to give and their experience and dedication benefits our business,” Marion says.
