Elaine James last year was over 60, out of work and over it!! Now the current Masters 2004/5 Australian Record Holder Weightlifter runs a successful business as a Motivational Speaker thanks to St Laurence Employment Services Jobwise program. Program facilitator, Maria Straub coached Elaine along with 25 like minded jobseekers in all aspects of looking for work in a market where employers often overlook the skills and qualifications of older people. Elaine has built her business which was just a hobby into a paid viable business and is able to pass on her motivational skills to others. Elaine said "Last year most of us were feeling slightly jaded because of the many obstacles relating to our age and situations. Now we know there is work out there for us and our experience of past years is valuable.......we know that change is part of achieving"
